Mexican Restaurants in the West Island
Chimichangas, fajitas, burritos, and quesadillas are just few of the most famous Mexican dishes. Mexican cuisine is typically flavorful because of the numerous spices and herbs used. But there is no single set of dishes that can truly describe authentic Mexican cuisine. This is due to the varying degrees of Spanish and Middle Eastern influences on the native dishes of different regions in Mexico.
For example, in northern Mexico, where there are vast grazing lands for cattle, most dishes usually contain beef. The favorite one is the flank steak, which is also known as the Arrachera cut. The strips of the steak is used to fill tacos or marinated and grilled to become fajitas.
In southeastern Mexico, where the land meets the Caribbean, the majority of dishes can be categorized as seafood. One of the famous fish dishes is the a la veracruzana. Southeastern Mexicans also have the tendency to use very spicy ingredients, producing spicy enchiladas, salsa, and chile rellenos. These Mexican dishes are accompanied with traditional drinks, such as chocolate, tequila, tejate, mezcal, and michelada.
