Pizza Restaurants in the West Island

The name 'pizza' comes from the Latin word 'pinsere' and is a dish made popular by Italians. In its early years it was generally a round piece of bread baked in the oven and covered with tomato based sauce and/or tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. Many people are used to seeing other toppings on pizzas including mushrooms, onions, sausage and pepperoni.

The toppings on a pizza are generally dependent on the region in which the pizza is made. Pizza, in its earliest form was very plain, usually made with just sauce and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. Now, however, people generally enjoy generous and plentiful toppings to enhance the taste. Some pizzas now contain more than a pound of cheese.

Pizza is one Italian dish that has become increasingly popular world-wide and can be found in many developed areas and are a unique dish that can be made to fit the taste of any person.
