Located as a borough in the city of Montreal, Saint-Laurent has a long history as a college city. This place is now home to two colleges, one being the English Vanier College and the other being the French Cegep de Saint-Laurent. These two colleges dominate the culture in Saint-Laurent, as you might expect. Though it follows that the universities overpower the residential culture here, it is also true that there are business opportunities abounding.

It is especially known for its fast food, which figures because of the huge college contingent that lives there.
