  I have eaten at Abies a few times. I remember the last 2 times, the lean was dry, the medium lean still too dry. I have eaten many smoked meats in Montreal, and this should not be still open. Service wasnt great, and I was surprised that there was a \"small\" lunch time crowd. Truly not a true smoked meat, no quality here.

  the meat is not pink inside means was taken out before time,tough meat and very inconsistent,also they increased prices by 25% matching schwartz prices,used to be full ,I preferred to go all the way to st.laurent .

  I've eaten at Abie's several times and the smoked meat has always been top notch; medium fat maintains the flavor and the moisture as the meat just melts in your mouth. While the fries appear home cut, they can be inconsistent, but then again, I go there from Ottawa for the smoked meat.

  I’ve been to Abies on St. Jeans boul. many times, and sadly the quality of the meat is very inconsistent. Sometimes it is bright red and is almost calling your name while other times it is either white or greenish. Also, not a good idea for the head cooks to be handling money and playing with the smoke meat at the same time, kinda gross…
