Wow. I’m really surprised @ the last comment. I happen to frequent dundees at least 3 timez a week and have never had any “bad” food infact the taste per dollar value is the best in st annes. On a couple of occasions i’ve actually had the pleasure of talking to the head chef, a young italian man who prides himself on good quality food and who also happens to be a huge foodie like myself.

My husband and I have frequented this establishment many time in the past, however I was greatly disappointed in both the quality of the food and service recently. To begin, my first and second menu choices were not available. I am thinking that because of the road work, and decline in customers, management is not stocking nor ordering supplies accordingly, which brings me to my final point, that my third choice, was the butterfly shrimps, and that to my horror had a peculiar odour, as if they were reheated over and over again, not fresh in my opinion, and was served only four (4) tiny shrimp with no more than two tablespoons of rice. The rest of the plate was covered with lettuce. I considered not saying anything because we were out celebrating a special occasion, however the more I though about it,the more angry I got. When I did mention this to the waitress, she said that the manager would offer a 10% discount off my meal. Wow, how insulting that was. I have dinned in various establishments, in various cities and money has ever been a factor to me, but when an establishment shows complete and utter lack of consideration toward their customer, it proves to me that they would be willing to serve ANY garbage to make money. And yes, what they served me was utter garbage. I did not get an apology, nor was shown any real concern from the staff, instead they seemed indifferent . .Hoping not to get food poisoning, I consider this my public duty to let others know to stay away from this place.

I went to the same restaurant that day and had the Thai shrimp, which is part of that shrimp festival (11,95$ gets you 5 shrimp, rice and a choice of salad) a real bargain. My shrimp was fresh, big, and had no odor, actually my waitress was very curteous. I remember it being the same day because I overheard this situation, as I was a few tables over. All I have to say is that this person (who disturbed my dining experience) was a pain from the get-go.
To me, that person acted like someone trying to get something for free, and didn’t, then proceeded to rant and try to make this establishment look bad. I enjoyed my food and my service and have been going there for years. I had a problem there once where my burger was overdone- I told my waitress and she promptly asked if I wanted another one, or something else on the menu. I got a new burger and it was great. I hope the next time I go out, I won’t run into this person- I only get a couple nights off a week and don’t need someone like this ruining my night out.
