When I had lunch at Karma last week with a group of friends, the restaurant was almost empty but we had a great time and was not easy to go back to work afterwards. The restaurant was clean and the food was delicious – yet very expensive for what you were getting.

The atmosphere is better than the average Indian restaurant. There's no argument there. It's definitely a place to take a date and enjoy some good Indian food in a pleasant surrounding. But, the food is just good, not great or plentiful considering that you are paying $5 for plain rice and $5 for Nan bread, along with about $20 for your main dish. So, it can add up pretty quickly. The wine list does not offer anything reasonable. Prices are around $40 per bottle that you typically would find at the SAQ for $15. So, for this reason I would not suggest this restaurant for everyone and definitely not for families. But if it's a special occasion and your date likes Indian food, you will make a good impression taking him/her there.
