Serenata restaurant in Dollard Des Ormeaux is one of the few genuine Italian restaurant in the West Island of Montreal. Chefs Angelo Colicchio and Sergio Di Stefano have 55 years of combined experience in the restaurant industry and it shows with the quality of food being prepared and its presentation. Whether you consider yourself as a wine connoisseur or not, surely you will not be disappointed with their wide selection of Italian wine (roughly 1500 bottles).

Went here for valentines day. I really enjoyed it, they had not only warm bread they had this special bread with a garlic dip– very good and complimented my meal. The representation of the food was very nice and authentic.

Have been to this restaurant a couple of times. The first time was with a group of a dozen or so on a Saturday night when the musicians were playing, we had a great time! The food was excellent and the atmosphere was jovial. We were there again last night with as a threesome and again had a wonderful meal. My wife had the veal with lemon as did our guest and I had the lamb shank…it was incredible! There were two huge lamb shanks on the plate with vegetables and potatoes. We all had a superb butternut squash cream soup that was to die for! It is certainly on the higher end of the dining cost but not overly so for the quality of the food and great service we received. We will definitely make it back there again.

So La Serenata: we were 3 people. Very nice looking restaurant for a strip Mall Ambiance very nice as well, We arrived and were seated without menus or a drink order for I would say over 20 minutes (good thing it was not a blind date and we had lots to catch up on) After only receiving 1 menu because there was a large crowd (about 20) who still had all of their menus… poor excuse at the least take a drink order. after about 45 minutes we received our 1st course, we shared: Caesar Salad (very mayonnaisy, no tang, very bland) Fried Calamari (very crispy, tender, tartar sauce (poor choice with calamari in my opinion)) Mussels (Excellent!) Main Courses Tortellini Cardinale (pas plus que ca) Manicotti (very Cheesy) Lasagna (very Cheesy) I would say more gorgeous quality than fine dining Desert crème brulé (not the best I had yet not the worst by far) We were never asked if everything was OK, never asked if we wanted another drink, service was less, much less than I am used to in other fine dining establishments. The price was good, nothing was over $36.00 total bill was 126.00 (taxes and tip included) Menu choice, fair but lacking variety. all in all… 4 of 10 at best… I will not return nor recommend La Serenata. *** A large group of people is not an excuse for poor service, add additional staff, especially during the holidays!***

This is hands down one of the best Italian restaurants in the West Island. It is not the most obvious restaurant due to its location, but its a gem. The food is always consistent and great. Their wine selection is ideal and their prices even better. If your looking for a nice Italian dinner, and you want a sure bet, go to La Serenata. I’ve been there over 12 times now and not once have I been disappointed.

Definitely one of the best kept secrets on the West Island! My husband and I had a great time for our anniversary where the food and service was top notch. Overall the bill at the end of the night was a little high but was easily compensated by how we were being treated.
