I love Wok Café! The food is so flavorful and the portion sizes are huge; I never leave hungry from this restaurant. I also love how fast the service is at Wok Café; I have never waited longer than 10 minutes for my food.

Wok Café is the place to eat at if you’re looking for cheap yet tasty Chinese food. Entrees are about $10 each and incredibly filling. I ordered the chicken chow mein meal and was very impressed. I now go to this restaurant at least four times a month.

    Second review. Oh boy!

I’ve been to this restaurant many times for take-out. Chinese food menu items can be complex and I like the simplified Mcdonalds combo menu they have that makes it easy to order some items without stressing out too much over the vast quantity of food available. Each meal comes with a choice of soup or spring roll and Chinese mixed vegetables and rice with your main choice of meat. I’m not very adventurous and always order the standard general tao chicken combo. The first few times that I purchased a meal… I found the won ton soup to have a very tasty broth and tasted much better than most watered-down soups at other West Island restaurants. The chicken was a little crunchy and not too much breaded batter which is what a lot of chinese restaurants like to trick you with in order to save money by offering 90% breading and only 10% actual meat. The vegetables could have used an extra broccoli or two inside.

The next few times I went have not been as pleasant. One of the meals was barely edible and was thrown out while the general tao was soggy and tasted like it had been microwaved. I had given this place another chance and the food tasted much better. I don’t know what the key word would be except ‘consistency’. I never know what type of meal I’m going to expect. One trip can be great while another can be disastrous. I hope that we can see some improvement in the quality of the food over the long run.

The food deserves almost 5 stars…unfortunately the service, is not so good…..the owner is a sweetheart and tries really hard, but some of her employees are not people persons….and its not good…..and the delivery time is never under 1 hour.
But if you are willing to call ahead and wait for your food….its quite good.
